Jennifer Garner, who was born in and was raised in Charleston West Virginia, on April 17th, 1973 was born in Houston, Texas. Her dad, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in a college near her. In order to continue in the footsteps of her father, she graduated as a chemical engineer. Her move into New York in order to follow her dreams as an actor. While she was appearing in Broadway productions, she served as a server in a nearby restaurant. Garner was a guest star in the series "Felicity." (It it was on this show where she first met her husband Scott Foley.) Garner had her first big role in "13 Goin' on 30" the romantic comedy which was widely praised. Garner played a teenage girl trapped inside the adult body. Garner picked Gary Winick as the director of her movie. They continued looking for new projects after Winick's demise in 2011. Garner was appointed as an artist ambassador with Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009, was an important role within the group. It includes the promotion of the importance of nutrition, literacy and early education. Garner is a board member on the organization's board since 2014, has been an advocate of early learning. She has been a spokesperson to the Early Steps to School Success Program, where she coaches parents on ways to help their children to learn.
