Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. One of her first Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout the course of her career. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be released in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will return in 2023, and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. For two seasons, she was the main character of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Born and raised in Denver Ashford is now dividing the time in Los Angeles and New York.
