April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking lessons on piano and guitar at seven years old. Her interest in creating songs was sparked. At the age of 12 April wrote her first song Different. She spent a lot of the time of 14 making songs and practicing the piano. Over the next few years, she took notes together with her dad to LA as well as NY. April also added additional themes to the song "Take My Hand" to help her the friends she had who struggled with issues such as peer pressurization problems, as well as teenager suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing following as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned Clean Beauty company Ilia. She was born with no left hand. This is what makes her different. But this isn't the only characteristic of her. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her disability. However, it doesn't emphasize it. What is the message? We all have multiple aspects and that we are all unique and we're beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart speaks through video from Nashville. "I do not wish for it to dictate my existence. I'm not looking to only be known as a disability expert. However, it doesn't affect my daily living. I still do all my normal activities and have adjusted to the limitations of my disability. But it's also a part of me and I feel it's important to talk about. Lockhart is a true source of motivation for self-acceptance generally, is on a long road to reach it. She has been through times when she felt uncomfortable in the way she dressed and showed her arms. Nowadays, she dresses whatever she wants and posts pictures of herself in these outfits on social media, she is proud of herself. Self-love for her was an extended trip. The same is true for everybody, no matter what their degree of self-confidence. It's important to surround yourself with people who can identify and feel your heart.
