Cheney believes his role within the Bush Administration will be to be a candid but discrete advisor. Cheney was the first to accept the Republican Vice Presidential nominating in 2007 stated that the he would be looking forward to being under a President who can work across political lines and work with political rivals by fostering goodwill and working towards a common goal.
